A new Italian restaurant has opened in Orlando with a menu that offers authentic fare that'll instantly transport your tastebuds to a Tuscan countryside or Roman cafe. SIRO Urban Italian Kitchen, located at the Orlando World Center Marriott, is a piazza-style bistro that offers everything from light bites, to classic pastas, pizza and dessert.
Executive Chef Anthony Burdo created a menu featuring fresh farm-to-fork dishes that utilize local in-season ingredients. Even the bar has a "Garden to Glass" method of mixology. I recommend starting with one of their artisan charcuterie and cheese boards along with a refreshing handcrafted cocktail. Try their "Aged Italia" drink made with Breckenridge bourbon, blood orange aged balsamic, and blackberry syrup.
For the antipasti, you can't go wrong with their steak carpaccio or pinot grigio steamed mussels with old school garlic toast. Also take a look at their cleverly named pizzas, such as "Green Eggs & Ham" with arugula, prosciutto, and sunny side egg.
Their main dishes include a variety of mouthwatering choices from Veal Saltimbocca, Chicken Cacciatore, Braised Pork Shank, and handmade pastas.
If you'd like to keep it light (or just want to save room for dessert), their handmade pastas can conveniently be ordered in a half-sized portions for dinner (I love this feature).
For a sweet ending, or just an afternoon snack to share over coffee, you have to try the Zeppole: hot, made-to-order Italian donuts with a Nutella-like dip. Or order Ramon's Cookie Jar filled with classic Italian shortbread cookies such as anise, fig, almond, amaretti, and raspberry.
