This weekend my husband and I took a road trip up to Amelia Island and passed a few roadside stands selling citrus fruit, pecans, and salt water taffy.
I grew up in Lake County and remember driving by these types of orange stands all the time, but it seems I see fewer of them today. One quick little search and I found where all of these great foodie gift shops are hiding -- on the internet.
We still have a lot of great citrus grown here in Florida; they've just modernized their shopping and shipping.
This week, someone asked me where they could go to order some citrus gift baskets to send up north to family and friends for the holidays, so I've compiled a list of some citrus growers that ship gift fruit below.
It's the best way I know how to mail some Florida sunshine.
