It’s time to celebrate at Busch Gardens® Tampa this weekend. August 10th is World Lion Day and it’s a two-day celebration. Guests can visit the Edge of Africa area of the park and learn first-hand about the lion habitat.
World Lion Day is the first global campaign to celebrate the importance of the lion worldwide.
On Saturday, join in the festivities with complimentary cake to celebrate the new cubs - Kembe, Shtuko and Shaba. The World Lion Day fun continues into Sunday celebrating lions Iris and Rose’s seventh birthday. There will also be keeper talks throughout the weekend, along with guides available throughout the weekend to answer your questions.
While you’re at the park, try and catch a glimpse of the newest zebra to be born in the park. An endangered Grevy’s zebra was born in the park’s Serengeti Plains. If you’d like to see the new foal, try spotting it on the Edge of Africa, the Skyride or Serengeti Express train ride.
Enjoy the festivities!
