Back in February, my family and I took a trip over to the Homasassa in the Big Bend region of the state. During our time there, we visited the Ellie Schiller Homasassa Springs Wildlife State Park to see the manatees.
With 72 degree water temperatures year-round, this safe haven is a popular spot for wild manatees in the winter months with over hundred calling this area home.
We also stopped at Homasassa Butterfly, home to hundreds of beautiful butterflies. Their education center takes visitors on a journey through the stages of a butterfly’s life – fascinating stuff. My favorite part was being surrounded by butterflies in the greenhouse.
Visiting Citrus County was a great adventure and we made this fun video blog to show you the sights!
