Celebrate Grandparents Day at the Flagler Museum

By: Carrie McLaren

Celebrate family at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum on Sept. 8, 2013 for National Grandparents Day.

Located in Palm Beach, this National Historic Landmark features guided tours, rotating exhibits and special programs throughout the year. The property commemorates Flagler’s storied history and connections with the state of Florida.

Grandparents may tour Whitehall with a Tour and Activity Guide for Kids for their grandkids, and also enjoy the following family-friendly activities in the Flagler Kenan Pavilion:

  • Create a family tree
  • Create a scrapbook page together to commemorate the day
  • Get interviewed by your grandchild
  • Write a postcard to send to your Family
  • Have a family photo taken in front of Henry Flagler's Railcar

Grandparents have a special connection with this museum -- the museum's founder, Jean Flagler Matthews, was a granddaughter of Henry Flagler. She preserved Whitehall and its collections to honor her grandfather.
