Parents deserve time away every now and then and even more so when on a family vacation! Last month during our stay at the Gaylord Palms Resort in the Kissimmee/Orlando area, my husband and I spent our night off at the resort’s Old Hickory Steakhouse.
This upscale restaurant strongly believes in supporting local, organic and sustainable farming and it shines through in each of the dishes on the menu. As an appetizer, we sampled many cheeses and especially loved the local honey. Our server was extremely knowledgeable in the presentation.
If you are a steak lover, this is the place for you. Choose from a wide variety of cuts and you’ll even find lamb, veal and surf/turf on the menu. For those looking for something lighter, be sure and ask about the fresh fish of the day. You won’t be disappointed.
Old Hickory Steakhouse offers a relaxing atmosphere, set in the Everglades district of the resort. The theme is carried throughout the restaurant in a unique setting underneath the stars in the glass atrium of the hotel.
And while it’s great to have a night off without the kids, children are most certainly welcome at the restaurant. If you’re staying at the resort, there are childcare options available too.
I’m already looking forward to my next visit, our dinner was so much more than a meal – it was an experience. A really delicious experience.
