Miami Heat’s Point Guard Hosts “Think Pink Basketball” Event in Fort Lauderdale

By: Kara Franker

The Miami Heat’s star point guard, Mario Chalmers, hosted a fabulous cocktail party earlier this month at Speciality Automotive Treatments in Fort Lauderdale.

The event raised more than $40,000 for the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation and the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center

Guests enjoyed music, cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Grille 401. CBS4 Sports Anchor Jim Berry emceed the live auction, which featured a Hublot King Power Dwyane Wade Watch courtesy of Weston Jewelers, a New York City travel package from SitInMySeats VIP Tickets, a VIP Heat Experience with Mario Chalmers, and a Hand-painted Canvas of Lebron James courtesy of Joseph Gormley Art.

I’m a huge fan of Mario Chalmers because we both attended the University of Kansas for undergrad and now he is killing it as point guard for the Miami Heat. I'm also very proud that this fellow Jayhawk is supporting such great causes.

The Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center located at Holy Cross Hospital provides comprehensive healthcare to women in a serene and spa-like environment.

The Mario Chalmers Foundation supports development of youth through sports and encourages kids to stay positive and perform through adversity.
