Are you looking for a bone-chilling thrill or family-friendly fun? Experience spooky to spectacular Halloween events this fall in Tampa Bay.
Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens
The rumor is that the event will be the most personally invasive haunted attraction in Howl-O-Scream history with the introduction of "The Experiment." Sounds scary! The park’s 225 acres will be overgrown with dark, sinister, adult-targeted fun and the chance to ride adrenaline-fueled coasters at night, including Florida’s first triple-launch coaster, Cheetah Hunt. The event then runs Thursday through Saturday nights, Oct. 3-5, 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26 from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Lowry Park Zoo's ZooBoo
With both scary attractions like haunted houses to the family-friendly pumpkin toss -- there is something for everyone at the zoo! The annual Pumpkin Toss will be Friday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m., where animals get to stomp, chomp, kick, play and pounce on special seasonal treats. This year’s activities take place Oct. 4-5, 11-13, 18-20 and 24-47.
Florida Aquarium’s Guppyween
Roam around the Florida Aquarium in your Halloween costume, do a little trick-or-treating and participate in all kinds of family fun. The event takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27.
Fantasma Fest in Ybor City
The event series kicks off with a celebration of Ybor City's many flavors with a feat on Thursday, Oct. 24, and continues with the Little Monster's Promenade, where you can trick-or-treat among the merchants in Centro Ybor. Be sure to check out the pumpkin patch in the courtyard on Saturday, Oct. 26. Later in the day, participants can roll down 7th Avenue during the first annual Bed Races, where riders on wheeled beds race along three blocks in Ybor City. On that night check out the 28 Contest at the Centro Ybor Stage and enjoy live music and a costume contest.
Wild N' Wicked Nights at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park
The annual Halloween event will feature the 'Freak Show' mermaid show, a haunted trail and boat ride, mazes and other activities for all ages. The event is happening Oct. 18-19 and 25-26.
