Are you looking for a bone-chilling thrill or family-friendly fun? Experience spooky to spectacular Halloween events this fall in Tampa Bay.
1. Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens
The park’s 225 acres will be overgrown with dark sinister adult-targeted fun and the chance to ride adrenaline-fueled coasters at night including Florida’s first triple-launch coaster Cheetah Hunt. Freaky Preview is back and will open Howl-O-Scream 2014 on Fri. Sept. 26 and Sat. Sept. 27. The event then runs Thursday through Saturday nights Oct. 2 through Nov. 1.
2. Lowry Park Zoo's ZooBoo
With both scary attractions like haunted houses to the family-friendly pumpkin toss -- there is something for everyone at the Lowry Park Zoo. Check out events like the annual Pumpkin Toss where animals get to stomp chomp kick play and pounce on special seasonal treats. This year’s activities take place Oct. 3-4 10-12 17-19 23-26 and Nov. 1.
3. Florida Aquarium’s Guppyween
Roam around the Florida Aquarium in your Halloween costume do a little trick-or-treating and participate in all kinds of family fun. The event takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 26.
4. Fantasma Fest in Ybor City
Fantasma Fest runs from Oct. 20 - 31 2014. The festival kicks off with a celebration of Ybor City's many flavors with a feast and continues with the Little Monster's Promenade where you can trick-or-treat among the merchants in Centro Ybor. Be sure to check out the pumpkin patch in the courtyard. Participants can roll down 7th Avenue during the annual Bed Races where riders on wheeled beds race along three blocks in Ybor City. During the evening check out the 28 Contest at the Centro Ybor Stage and enjoy live music and a costume contest.
5. Wild N' Wicked Nights at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park
The annual Halloween event at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park will feature the 'Freak Show' mermaid show a haunted trail and boat ride mazes and other activities for all ages. The event is happening Oct. 18-19 and 25-26.
