Watch Sheldon the Loggerhead sea turtle use his powerful, beak-like jaws to crack into a treat, and see how much his flippers look like wings when he swims.
Sheldon’s story is a happy one: The 1 1/2 year-old turtle was rescued as a hatchling on the shores of MacArthur Beach State Park in Palm Beach, a favorite nesting ground for sea turtles. He will be released into the wild when he is a little older and more able to survive on his own.
You can meet Sheldon at the park. If you visit during June or July, you can go on a nighttime sea turtle walk with a ranger to watch a mother sea turtle lay her eggs.
