Imagine it: The sun dips over the Gulf, painting the sky pink and orange. The air is perfumed with salt. You have a cocktail in your hand, and you’re swaying to the beat of mellow jazz. Everyone seems to be smiling.
You don’t have to imagine any more – and even better, this sweet scenario won’t leave your wallet wailing. The 28th annual SummerJazz on the Gulf concert series kick-offs at the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club on June 15, 2013, with a free concert by The Alan Darcy Group. The concert, like the others in the series, will be held from 7-10 p.m. on the resort’s Watkins Lawn.
If you’re a hotel guest you’ll have complimentary parking at the resort. If you’re not staying at the resort, parking is available just north of the hotel at Lowdermilk Park. You’ll enjoy complimentary parking if you have a Naples Beach sticker. A free trolley service will bring you to the resort and back.
If you won’t be in the Naples area in June, don’t get your beach towel in a twist. The 2013 Summer Concert series continues on July 20 (with entertainment by Late Night Brass); Aug. 24 (with entertainment by Vodkanauts); and on Sept. 21 (with entertainment by The Betty Fox Band).
The fine print: You may bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating, but coolers are not permitted. Call 239-261-2222 for more information or directions. You’ll be able to buy refreshments and grilled items.
Insider’s Tip: Snag some seafood at the resort’s H.B.’s on the Gulf. It’s Naples’ only beachfront restaurant. My favorite is the Ahi Tuna. Or, just snag a specialty drink at the Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, named Naples’ "Best Beach Bar" by the Travel Channel.
