By: Lauren Tjaden

Any sand snob worth her beach towel has got to love South Walton’s Scenic Highway 30A. The road, nestled against the Gulf of Mexico in Northwest Florida, winds past miles of sugar-sand beaches and rare coastal dune lakes. It rolls through towns like Seaside, a charming village clad in picket fences and pastel colors.

It’s a place guaranteed to soothe your soul and please your eyes. Now, it’s guaranteed to please your ears too.

The 30A Songwriters Festival, Jan. 17-19, 2014, features more than 150 artists performing in 25 venues ranging from intimate listening rooms to spacious outdoor amphitheaters.

And the talent is immense.

Headliners at this three-day music festival include Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Loudon Wainwright III,  Ani DiFranco, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Richard Thompson, Shawn Mullins, John Oates, Rusty Young (Poco), Jonathan Edwards, Craig Fuller (Pure Prairie League), John Gorka, Mary Gauthier, James McMurtry, Bob Schneider, Glenn Phillips Band, Matthew Sweet, Jeffrey Steele, Jim Lauderdale and Tinsley Ellis, with more to be announced in the coming months.

It’s an event is bound to make your heart – and your toes – sing a happy tune!
