New Smyrna Beach is a gem of a destination that’s somehow managed to remain slightly—and wonderfully—off the radar.
It’s charming and laid-back, an enclave rather than a city. Located just a splash south of Daytona Beach, it’s the second-oldest city in North America, and boasts a thriving arts community and great fishing as well as the best surfing in the state. Plus, its beach is the closest to Orlando.
But as it’s been said, seeing is believing. Which is my cue to push back from the keyboard and let the pictures do the talking.
