Raise Your Glass to Seeing Red in Seaside

Seeing red: In bullfighting, the matador beckons the bull with a red cape, which agitates the bull, and it charges for the cape. Seeing red refers to when someone becomes so angered that it controls them, enraging the person.

Seaside is snuggled against the emerald waters of the Gulf in Northwest Florida, an enclave so charming it played the perfect town in the movie ‘The Truman Show.’ Designed so you can walk everywhere you want to go, it’s upscale, with picket fences and eclectic shops. And it’s so laid back it’s vertical.

So it’s surprising that anyone would see red there.

Unless you’re talking about seeing red wine. And sampling it. That brings about an entirely different mood, one that involves smiling, laughter, and holding hands.

The 23rd Annual Seeing Red Wine Festival, Oct. 31 – Nov. 3, 2013, is sure to satisfy your taste for wine -- and the beach. Decades of southern tradition are complimented by this highly anticipated four day festival. It offers an extensive array of tasting tents with wines from around the world to sample, and you can purchase your favorites to take home.

Who knew?

Seeing red can be a beautiful thing.
