When I think of Madeira Beach I think of sugar-sand beaches and calm waters. Of flip flops and shorts. Of dolphin tours out of John’s Pass. Of noshing on a Grouper sandwich under the shade of a beach umbrella while listening to a guy play guitar and sing.
If you haven’t visited this piece of paradise, nestled on Florida’s Gulf coast just a splash south of Clearwater Beach, you should.
And if you love motorcycles, I’ve got the perfect excuse.
Madeira Beach revs up for its first annual Mad Beach Motorcycle Show Sunday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m. --5 p.m. along Madeira Way (15004 Madeira Way, Madeira Beach, Fl 33708). Bike enthusiasts will be showing off their classic, antique, new and custom motorcycles from all eras. The Show awards prizes in a variety of categories.
Vendors will offer food and all kinds of bike gear. While you’re there, you can explore the local restaurants and shops. Plus definitely allow some time to give your toes a wiggle in that soft sand.
Smells like fun to me!
There is no admission charge for this pet and family-friendly event.
