Oftentimes the results of our actions are predictable.
For instance, if you baked a cake made of salt and straw you’d hardly be surprised if the result didn’t leave your taste buds singing. Likewise, if your diet is rich in potato chips and you spend considerable time lounging on the couch, you shouldn’t be surprised if your health suffers. It’s a predictable recipe.
That’s why I’m a big fan of events that promote exercise. Exercise gives people healthier, longer, more enjoyable lives, and an event gives you a goal to aim for as well as a way to measure your progress.
Sometimes it provides an excuse to visit a rockin’ beach, as well.
I’m talking about the Beach Blast Triathlon and Duathlon, held on Mexico Beach, Sept. 14, 2013. It consists of four races; pick your race and distance. All four races start from the same spot on the beach.
And get this! The swim takes place in emerald-hued waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
About Mexico Beach: This little known escape, located east of Panama City Beach on Florida’s Forgotten Coast, doesn’t have a single traffic light. Its sand is as white as snow, its waters are clean and quiet, and its town is old fashioned and charming.
