To say that the Latino culture is thriving in Broward County is like saying Florida has a lot of sand -- a vast understatement.
Approximately 500,000 Hispanics reside there, representing the fastest-growing population in South Florida. This passionate, vibrant culture embraces family, religion, and music.
If that’s not worthy of a celebration, nothing is!
The Hollywood Beach Latin Festival sizzles into the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk Sept. 15, 2013, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Now in its 20th year, the festival celebrates the Hispanic way of life. Last year it drew a whopping crowd of 40,000.
The Festival features main stage performances, cultural performances at the beach, Theatre with Art Works, Latin food, arts and crafts, exhibitors and an abundance of spicy fun for your whole gang.
Admission is free.
And there’s more happy news. The Festival provides assistance to local community organizations, awarding scholarships to the Broward Community College, assisting with programs including the Boys and Girls Club, Hispanic Unity, the YMCA and more.
Because as Julia Alvarez quoted, “The point is not to pay back kindness but to pass it on."
