It’s evening on the beach. The Gulf of Mexico shimmers in the moonlight. You curl sugar-sand under your toes, listen to the music of the surf, and wonder at the vast heavens, sprinkled with pinpricks of light.
Thanks to the Escambia Amateur Astronomers Association, you can enjoy this heavenly event. An Evening Under the Stars twinkles into Pensacola Beach’s Gulfside Pavilion on Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20, 2013. You’ll get to peer through telescopes and binoculars at the Moon, planets and other celestial objects just before sunset, clear skies permitting.
And it gets even better. Free parking is available in the Casino Beach parking lot, near the Beach Ball Water Tower, and the event is free too.
I’d say things are looking up!
