If you’ve ever glimpsed a mermaid, you know how impossible it is to pull your eyes away from the sight. These creatures glide through water dappled with sunlight, hair fluttering with the surf. Sometimes they can be found stretched atop a rock, bejeweled with shells and a sly smile. But wherever you spot one, they seem to disappear too soon, their powerful tails propelling them into the depths.
But now you can not only feast your eyes on these beauties, you can actually meet one. Or be one.
The Haunted Pirate Fest and Mermaid Splash is making waves in Boynton Beach Oct. 26-27, 2013. It features live mermaids in a tank, a Mermaid Pageant, two stages with live music, artists, and incredible food options that range from a quick bite to a full meal. There’s even a parade.
Your kids can make their own pirate or mermaid at a craft table. You can admire fire eaters, jugglers and dancers. Plus, the whole gang will love the pirate reenactments on the Black Sparrow Pirates ship at Boynton Harbor Marina.
Every landlubber, scallywag and undersea beast that’s anyone will be there. And you should be there, too.
Sure, there are plenty of other fish in the sea. But why would you want a fish if you have a mermaid?
