Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey, and yellow, white,
but we decide which is right,
and which is an illusion.~ Moody Blues
It’s a simple event, one that costs almost nothing to attend. It features a symphony made of muted color, the sound of the surf rolling against the shore, and the waves glittering under the kiss of the full moon. And it’s pure magic.
Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area (3100 S. Ocean Shore Blvd, Flagler Beach FL 32136) will host a Full Moon Beach Hike, Aug. 20, 2013, 7- 8 p.m. All ages are welcome to join Ranger Tony for the hike, but minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The hike will leave from the beachside day-use pavilion. You should bring water, a flashlight and dress for the weather. The hike will be less than a mile long.
Reservations are not required but notification of participation is requested. The cost is included in the regular park entrance fee of $5 per carload of two to eight people, $4 for one person in a car and $2 per pedestrian or bicyclist. To reserve your place, request assistance or for details, please contact Jennifer Giblin at 386-517-2086 or via email at Jennifer.Giblin@dep.state.fl.us.
You should go. Because who couldn’t stand a little magic in their life?
