Just thinking about Black Friday makes my mouth tighten. It brings back memories of crowds, waiting, and wishing -- that the line was shorter and that the florescent lights didn’t have that annoying blink and that the wailing child would cease and desist.
So in the interest of keeping the happy, warm-tummy vibe of Thanksgiving alive for at least a few days after the holiday, I suggest you forget that questionable shopping day. Instead, head over to the 14th Annual Downtown Delray Beach Thanksgiving Weekend Art Festival, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 2013, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
This annual juried art festival, held in the heart of Delray Beach, features hundreds of artists exhibiting and selling their work in an outdoor gallery. You can feast your eyes on photos, paintings, and jewelry, as well as works in glass, fiber and more.
You’ll be sure to find something unique for everyone on your holiday gift list. And you’ll be sure to come away smiling, because Delray Beach is utterly charming, laid-back and fun.
You can thank me later!
