ADD TO FAVORITES

It’s hard to beat New Year’s Eve at the beach. Imagine it: People raising toasts, the air perfumed with salt and laughter, counting down to the start of a brand-spanking-new-year with sand in your flip-flops and a smile on your face. The only sad part is you just get enjoy it once a year.

Until now.

You can double your fun thanks to two Northwest Florida beach towns and their New Year’s 2013 Celebrate Twice event.

Here’s how it works. You start the party in the Eastern Time Zone in Port St. Joe and St. Joe Beach, then travel west five minutes to Mexico Beach and celebrate all over again an hour later in the Central Time Zone. Both celebrations even include fireworks.

Besides celebrating twice, you can celebrate safe. Shuttle busses will be carrying passengers to local hot spots and everywhere in between.  The shuttles are free, but you must be 21 or older to ride.

It’s genius!
