Miami is a city in a hurry, a little sliver of land where drivers tend to be aggressive. The cars are fast, the nightlife is fast, and the people are fast.
Turns out even the beds are fast.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Great Grove Bed Race, a madcap contest featuring five-person teams pushing home-made beds down Coconut Grove’s Grand Avenue at breakneck speed. The event, Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, includes prizes, celebrities, and a boudoir full of laughs, drawing a crowd of 30,000.
You can watch the once-in-a lifetime spectacle, or you can join in the action.
It’s something to consider.
Because when else will you have a chance to race through the streets of Miami without fear of getting arrested?
This year, 100% of the proceeds from the event will go to Junior Chambers Easter Seals Toy Drive and Children’s Hospital.
