There’s a newly refurbished beach in town, complete with an onsite restaurant that overlooks Biscayne Bay, a sand volleyball court, a kids playground and more – it’s Homestead Bayfront Park.
The $4.75 million project was completed by Miami-Dade County Parks in July and it’s scoring high marks from locals and visitors alike.
The first thing you’ll notice is the new 6,000+ square foot building, home to La Playa Grill, a restaurant and concession area with a screened-in dining area and walk-around balcony from which you can soak in the views of Biscayne Bay. The menu is American Seafood and Mexican.
Down by the water are six new “funbrella”canopies, picnic tables that provide shade. There are also two new ADA accessible picnic shelters. A few feet from the volleyball court, kids can dig for dinosaur bones and fossils in the new “Dino Diggables Sandbox.”
Come on down and check out Homestead Bayfront Park, with 97 beachfront acres to explore. New landscaping, new paths, grilling areas and those same old secret fishing spots are still there, along with the Herbert Hoover Marina.
