Lake Worth's Downtown Merchants Gearing up for 'Small Business Saturday'

By: Gary McKechnie

Over the past few years, a drive called ‘Small Business Saturday’ has gained awareness, and it’s all about supporting small, local businesses.

Folks in Lake Worth are making it worthwhile to patronize local merchants not just on Saturday the Nov. 24, but with deep discounts also on ‘Black Friday,’ the Nov. 23.

As in other areas, Lake Worth’s Downtown Cultural Alliance points out that most of their downtown shops are “mom and pop” stores and galleries, bakeries, cafes, and antique shops featuring one-of-a-kind merchandise. Plus, there’ll be musicians playing in the streets, puppeteers, and other performers who'll make the day feel, the DCA says, like “you’re in a Norman Rockwell painting.”

Whether you’re hanging out in Lake Worth, Arcadia, Micanopy, Sanford, High Springs, Inverness or anywhere else… set aside Saturday, Nov. 24 as a time when you’ll see what local merchants have in store for you.
