Dr. Beach, America’s foremost Beach Expert, uses 50 beach criteria to decide which beaches are the sweetest in the whole country – and two Sunshine State seashores have just surfed onto the top 10 list for 2012!

St. George Island State Park, snuggled against northwest Florida’s Forgotten Coast, snagged the number four spot. Leatherman quotes, “The sand is squeaky clean. Visitors can revel in swimming, shelling, fishing, canoeing, boating, hiking and camping.”

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park in Key Biscayne (close to Miami) splashed in at number eight, with accolades for its clear, emerald-colored waters, gentle surf  and the breathtaking views the Cape Florida Lighthouse provides.
