Luxe Stays In Key West

By: Rachelle Lucas

With its fantastic Caribbean flavors, laid-back lifestyle and daily sunset celebration, Key West is the perfect place to plan a summer getaway. There are plenty of options for places to stay, from quaint B&B's to grand hotels. To give you some inspiration and help with your planning, here are my recommendations for luxury stays on this fun tropical island.

Hyatt Key West Resort & Spa: Located just off Duval Street, you'll be steps away from all the action of Key West's main thoroughfare full of shops, restaurants and entertainment. But at the Hyatt, you'll feel like you stepped into your own quiet, private oasis away from the crowds. Each room has the perfect blend modern luxury and pampering amenities including Portico spa products and a Nespresso coffee maker. Be sure to make reservations at SHOR for a romantic dinner.

Pier House: Right next door to the Hyatt is Pier House.  From their traditional rooms to their two bedroom suites, each guestroom has a relaxing outdoor seating area with views of lush tropical gardens or the ocean. Once you arrive, check out their island-inspired spa and try the Caribbean Spa Coma Massage or Botanical Island Facial to relax you into vacation-mode.

Key West Marriott Beachside: Located on the north side of the island, this truly is a home away from home with a living area, gourmet kitchen and deluxe bath with a whirlpool tub. Some suites even have a rooftop deck perfect for watching the sunrise or sunset. Their Executive Chef, Kevin Montova, won first place in the Key West Master Chef Classic for his flavorful creation of Coffee Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin, so be sure to make a reservation at the on-site restaurant, Town N Tavern.

La Mer Hotel & Dewey House: This luxury inn with historic charm is just steps away from the beach and offers a deluxe continental breakfast including homemade quiche and made-to order waffles. You can also enjoy morning yoga on the beach or complimentary afternoon tea on Dewey Terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Casa Marina: For the ultimate in luxury and island elegance, take a peak at this historic Waldorf Astoria property. The Casa Marina has the largest private beach in Key West and two oceanfront pools. If you're in the mood for adventure, the Water Sports Package includes an island Jet Ski tour for two around the island and unlimited use of kayaks and paddle boards.
