Love live music? Every month, Martin County puts on a wealth of festivities that will get your toes tapping.
On the third Friday of every month, downtown Stuart comes alive with MusicFest on the Riverwalk. Meander the boardwalk, browse local vendors and enjoy a cold beverage as a band plays from 6 to 10 p.m. The same venue also hosts Rockin’ Riverwalk, a live music series every Sunday from October through May, 1 to 4 p.m.
Facilitated by the Arts Council of Martin County, galleries in downtown Stuart and throughout the community stay open late for the First Thursday Gallery Nights, starting Oct. 4 for the season. Find artists demonstrating their talents, refreshments and camaraderie among fellow arts lovers.
At Jammin’ Jensen every Thursday starting at 6 p.m., listen to live music, enjoy great food and admire an array of arts and paintings in Jensen Beach.
Every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., vendors at the Stuart Green Market offer up fresh produce, seafood and baked goods. Musicians add to the ambiance with standard, classic and original folk songs.
Martin County is also home to a variety of arts and crafts festivals, including the 13th annual Downtown Stuart Craft Festival Sept. 22-23. From photography and paintings to sculpture and jewelry, the festival will feature more than 100 fine crafters.
Every Independence Day, thousands converge at Flagler Park for Star Spangled Stuart. This year, attendees enjoyed patriotic music from a 50-piece community band, munched on cotton candy and took flight in the bounce house. The night ended with a dazzling fireworks display.
On Aug. 25, the 25th annual Dancin’ in the Streets party will hit downtown Stuart. This year’s entertainment includes tribute bands for artists including Jimmy Buffett, The Eagles and Led Zeppelin, as well as street performers and an antique car show. The music runs from 6 p.m. to midnight.
In October, hobgoblins invade Stuart for a newly expanded Hobgoblins on Main Street. There will be a costume contest for adults and children, children’s parade, car show and family festival. At night the event turns into a Halloween dance party. It all happens on Osceola Street Saturday, Oct. 27.
A highlight in South Florida, the Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival will unfold Nov. 2-4. Browse the Bahamian Market and watch Junkanoo Parades. Be entertained by jugglers and listen to national recording artist Uncle Kracker.
The Stuart Air Show takes off Nov. 10-11 at Witham Field. The thundering weekend event begins Friday at 4 p.m. with a fly over and party. The affair features fireworks, food, drinks, amazing aerial performances and great live music by Nashville recording artist Tom Jackson.
