Videos of Three of My Favorite Almost-Famous Beaches

By: Lauren Tjaden

It’s as sad as a surfer without a swell.

I’ll bet my flip-flops most of you haven’t been to these beaches, and that means you’re missing out, because they’re super sweet. Check out videos of three of my favorite almost-famous Sunshine State seashores.

  • Any beach bunny worth her flip-flops has heard of Siesta Key, acclaimed by Dr. Beach as the best beach in the country. But have you heard of luscious Lido Key?
Just a splash north of Siesta Key, it features white sand, clear waters, bathrooms and showers, free parking and also St. Armand’s Circle, a trendy little paradise for shopping, dining and playing.

  • Delray Beach provides a peachy place to play, but beautiful Boynton Beach is noteworthy, too. Just a few waves north of Delray, it boasts bathrooms, a play area, a complimentary beach wheelchair, a snack bar and shaded picnic areas. Plus, its beach is the bomb.

  • Windmark Beach is snuggled close to the incredibly clear, calm, emerald-tinted waters of the Gulf of Mexico, between Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach in northwest Florida. This oh-so-unknown gem boasts the whitest sand I’ve ever seen, abundant nature and soul-soothing solitude.
