A Visit to One of Bourdain's Favorite Eats in Miami

By: Rachelle Lucas

Michael's Genuine has been a popular hot spot among locals for a number of years, but Anthony Bourdain put it on the map during his recent visit to Miami for his show, The Layover.

In the middle of the trendy shops and boutiques in Miami's Design District, Michael's Genuine is worth the quick drive away from the beach for fresh creative food served in a vibrant atmosphere.

Because their menu is seasonal, definitely ask for recommendations from your server. It's divided up by portion size (small, medium, large) to encourage tasting and sharing different dishes tapas style with your friends. Personally, I loved their burrata with local heirloom tomatos, mozarella, basil and a sprinkle of fluer de sel. It was also a light enough meal to save room to indulge in one of their mouth-watering desserts such as their banana peanut butter and bacon panini or tangerine creamsicle pot de creme with warm doughnuts and blackberry jam.

Michael's Genuine is a must-see during your next visit to Miami. Check out their website, MichaelsGenuine.com, for location, directions and more information.
