Top 3 Ways to Save at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo

By: Dalia Colon

School's almost out, and the kids are getting squirrely. Time for a family outing! Here are my top ways to visit one of the nation's most family-friendly zoos, Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, without tapping into the kids' college fund.

1) The zoo's popular $5 days are a crazy-good deal, if you don't mind crowds. Just five George Washingtons per person gets you through the gates; rides cost extra. The next $5 day is Sunday, May 20, 2102. Check the zoo's online calendar for future discount days.

2) The annual pass is the best value for families. It includes unlimited daytime admission, discounts on special events and other programming, plus a discount in the gift shop. You'll also get free admission to MOSI and the Florida Aquarium, along with free or discounted admission to more than 150 zoos and aquariums throughout North America.

3) Discounted group tickets are ideal if you have at least 15 people in your posse. Think school groups, birthday parties, family reunions and such.
