Martin County Park Makes a Splash

As the temperatures begin to sizzle, cool off at the latest water park to hit Florida: Sailfish Splash Waterpark in Martin County. This family-friendly park, which officially opened in late April, offers a wide range of activities and features to delight fun-seekers of all ages.

Hurtle down four-story-high waterslides and splash away in the interactive water playground. Unwind on the lazy river or get fit with a water aerobics class.

Conveniently located off Interstate 95 in Stuart, the park is just a quick car ride away from Martin County's hot spots, making it the ideal place to visit again and again. And, with admission prices under $10, it’s a trip that won’t empty your wallet.

Endless Possibilities

Decorated with murals of native fish and wildlife, the $10 million, two-acre recreation park is teeming with entertainment options.

Adults can lounge on the oversized pool deck or nap beneath a shade umbrella while children explore the 7,200-square-foot interactive water playground, which features water guns, slides and places to climb. The zero-depth entry pool, which was designed with younger children and toddlers in mind, also features a large splash wading area. The park has a dry playground as well.

For an adrenaline rush, shoot down one of two towering, winding waterslides, or find the ultimate in relaxation by floating along the 11-foot-wide lazy river.

Afterward, head to the café and munch on an Angus burger and fries or chicken Caesar salad. Dine indoors or at a shaded picnic table.

The café is part of an 8,000-square-foot facility, which also houses locker rooms, restrooms, family changing rooms, a first aid room and multi-purpose rooms that can be rented for special occasions such as birthday parties.

Throughout the year, the park will host family fun nights and other events, such as “Splash into Christmas,” along with summer camp programs.

Fit and Fun

At the park’s Aquatics Center, fun and fitness come together naturally. Swim laps in the 50-meter competition pool, where meets will take place throughout the year, or sign up for a fitness class. Courses include deep water aerobics, pool Pilates and water yoga.

Or, simply head back to the Lazy River and get a low-aerobic workout by going in the opposite direction.

The Learn-to-Swim pool, which is handicap accessible, is designed for swimming lessons and fitness programs. Parents can relax in the indoor viewing area and watch as their children take private or group lessons.

Admission to the water park only is $9.25 for adults and $7.25 for children ages 3 to 13 and seniors; access to the pool costs extra, as do classes. Season passes and group rates are available.

Hours of operation vary depending on the time of year. During spring, which runs through May 27, the water park is open every weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During summer, May 28 through Aug. 20, the hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Whether you are looking for a fun-filled day in the sun or want to try a new fitness routine, Sailfish Splash Waterpark is the place to be.
