Before I had kids, I had a calligraphy business. I wasn't talented enough to create those gorgeous brush strokes myself; I had a super high-tech robotic machine that held the pen and did the work. I can only imagine that Zen Master Shodo Harada would be appalled!
Zen Master Shodo Harada is world-renowned for his calligraphy. His tools? Just a brush and ink. He would be astounding to watch and learn from – and next Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, you can! He will give one-hour demonstrations at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach.
If you love this artform, you cannot miss this! This man is heir to the teachings of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism. He is the author of two books on Zen training, Morning Dewdrops of the Mind, and The Path to Bodhidharma. What an opportunity!
The cost is only $20 and advance registration is required. Visit the Morikami Museum's website for all the details.
