Heading to Sunny Isles Beach

By: Rachelle Lucas

I'm excited to visit a new destination this week, Sunny Isles Beach.  Living in Florida nearly my whole life, it's rare to find a place in this state that I've never been. This gem of a city nestled between Fort Lauderdale and Miami looks to be the epitome of luxury and relaxation. There's a huge variety of fine dining, miles of gorgeous resorts, and the ocean is a mesmerizing shade of emerald blue.

I'll be staying at the Marenas Resort and Spa, which offers Personal Luxury Resort Concierge Services. Their suites and guestrooms promise the "intimate ambience of a boutique-style hotel" and gorgeous balcony views. But if you really wanted to splurge, check out their penthouse suite with a private Jacuzzi on a rooftop terrace overlooking 180-degree views of the ocean. Now THAT sounds like luxury.

I'm also looking forward to taking a peak at the chef's garden at Turnberry Isle, trying out the trendy restaurants in Bal Harbour, and spending an afternoon at the Acqualina Resort and Spa.

This weekend is also the the 4th Annual Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Festival with soothing melodies and sophisticated entertainment along two and a half miles of pristine beaches. Performances include the American jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra and world famous pianist Tony Madruga. Interested in going? Tickets are a reasonable $25 and more information can be found at SunnyIslesBeachJazz.com
