Nature in a Minute: Coastal Dune Habitat

By: Kevin Mims

On a recent trip to Flagler Beach I spent some time hanging out at one of my favorite spots – Gamble Rogers State Recreation Area. I've kind of made Flager Beach and Gamble Rogers SRA a second home it seems. The camping is great there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat (don't miss A1A Burrito Works) and there are tons of eco-opportunities in the area. Go there you'll have a great time!

This week's Nature in a Minute video talks about the coastal dune habitat. It's easy to miss all that's going on in the dunes when you are heading to the beach but on your next coastal outing make sure to spend a little time checking out the dunes. It's really really hard to squeeze an entire habitat into a minute-long video but there were so many wildflowers in bloom that I thought I'd share all of it.

Take a look at the video and when you are ready to learn more about coastal dunes take a guided tour with the gang over at Ripple Effect Ecotours. They can give you tons and tons of in depth information about the natural side of things in Northeast Florida. Have fun!
