The Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station boasts being one of the best preserved, most complete light stations in the nation – and it also happens to be the tallest one in the Sunshine State. I’m here to verify that last part.
My rear-end and legs have been whimpering since yesterday, when I huffed my way up all 203 steps to the top of the 175-foot tower, located just a splash south of Daytona Beach in the town of Ponce Inlet.
So -- was it worth it?
Yes! The views at the top of the tower were mind-blowing, and the inside of the lighthouse was incredible. Check out my video!
If you want to tour the lighthouse yourself, I have some news to make you fling your flip-flops in joy: It won’t leave your wallet wailing; admission is just $5 for adults and $1.50 for children 11 and under.
