Oh man, I just watched this helmet-cam video of a man riding a horse, and I was transfixed. I mean, these horses will jump over anything! You gotta check the 1:20 mark when he splits a pair of trees.
What led me to that video is the news that one of America's premier equestrian competitions is making its annual return to Tallahassee next month. The Red Hills Horse Trials will take place at Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park, March 11-13, and it's most definitely a weekend that all horse lovers should circle on their calendars.
The event showcases some of the world's best riders and horses from 11 countries and 28 states, including many Olympic competitors. With over 400 volunteers and more than 15,000 spectators, it's a bona fide beloved tradition. It's also a great day for the family, with pony rides, educational tours and an avenue of shops. And did I mention horses jumping over anything and everything in their paths? Click here for more details.
