Beach Town with Big Style

White, sandy beaches. Crystal waters. Gorgeous weather. Those features alone make Delray Beach a premier destination in Florida.

But a quick stroll downtown reveals another marvelous side to this town – one filled with art, culture, shopping and entertainment.

Delray Beach is home to not just one, but two arts districts. On Atlantic Avenue, browse boutiques, dine at outdoor cafes and enjoy nightly entertainment. Throughout the year, experience events and festivals that are fun for the whole family.

Delray Beach is less than an hour drive from three international airports. One visit to the “Jewel of South Palm Beach County” and you will agree: It’s a small town with big-city style.

Art & Culture

Located in the heart of downtown, the Delray Beach Art District features dozens of art galleries clustered among boutiques, museums and cultural arts venues.

Every Friday evening, galleries open their doors for “Gallery Walk,” where locals and tourists alike stroll Atlantic Avenue to admire artwork from across the world.

Just north of Atlantic Avenue is the newly redeveloped Pineapple Grove Arts District. Artists flock to the area, which boasts an eclectic mix of cafés, boutiques, galleries and spas. Keep an eye out for amazing displays of public artwork.

Shopping, Dining, Entertainment

Downtown Delray is home to more than 1,100 businesses. Find chic clothing at fashionable shops such as Luckie Street Boutique and Love Shack. If you’re looking for a unique gift, pick up a handcrafted accessory from Conversation Pieces.

Take a shopping break to please your palate with foie gras and Chilean sea bass at the award-winning Sundy House Restaurant. Every meal is a work of art at this fine-dining restaurant, which features a seasonally inspired menu.

For a more casual experience, snag a sidewalk table at The Office, a modern American gastropub. Sip a craft beer and snack on truffle Parmesan fries

As night falls, check out The Blue Anchor British Pub, which has all of the warmth and friendliness of a traditional British inn. Order a classic Scotch egg appetizer and an imported draught beer. Afterward, dance the night away at Pineapple Groove, where live bands get the crowd on their feet late into the night.

Delray Beach is known for festivals that are fun and free. One of South Florida’s oldest and largest outdoor street festivals will take over 10 city blocks April 9-11. The 49th annual Delray Affair will host more than 800 artists and photographers, as vendors serve up delicious treats like sizzling hot conch fritters.

Also in the spring, sidewalks will transform into outdoor art studios at the annual “Take it Easel” event. As artists give demonstrations, children can make flowers, paint pots and create a personal Picasso. An exact date is being planned.

On May 19, listen to jazz and browse boutiques and galleries that stay open late at Art & Jazz on The Avenue. From May 28-29, admire handmade art, paintings and jewelry at the Downtown Delray Beach Craft Festival.

Without a doubt, Delray Beach is a small town that leaves a big impact.
