Waking Up Is Hard To Do

This is a fun event to tell you about - singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka has written his first children’s book, Waking Up is Hard to Do. I know you must recognize the title because it’s based on his signature song recorded back in 1962 (and it's also one of the most popular songs in music history)! There’s also a CD with him singing this happy song, plus two new songs that he wrote “Lightnin’ Jim” and “Sing."

To celebrate his first children's book, you are invited to a book signing and reception, Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Alper Jewish Community Center in Miami.

I have to say, I'm a little excited as I'm a big fan of the Grammy Award winning Neil Sedaka. Did you know he's written over 1,000 songs and has sold over 60 million records? (My personal favorites are “Breaking Up is Hard to Do,” "Calendar Girl," and “Laughter in the Rain.”) He even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

General Admission tickets to this event are $7 or you can purchase a Family Pak (2 Adults, 2 Children, includes the book) for $36. This is sure to be a sold-out event so get your tickets now by calling 305-271-9000 x 268 or you can log on to the Alper JCC website
