When you’re looking for a family escape in South Florida that will not only please everyone, but also greatly exceed expectations, head to the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa (formerly the Ritz Carlton).
This resort hotel is just steps from the blue waters of the Atlantic, on seven lushly landscaped acres – private beach included. And yes, their list of amenities is long and lovely, as you’d expect: five star service, two outdoor pools, onsite casual and fine dining, rich décor, a spectacular spa, and an oceanfront fire pit…to name a few.
But here’s what makes Eau Palm Beach a fantastic choice for families - their kids’ programs: AquaNuts (ages 5-12) and COAST (ages 13-17).
AquaNuts offers half-day, full day and evening adventures seven days a week. That in itself is wonderful, but wait till you see this colorful under-the-sea themed playroom! AquaNuts has computers, games, a rock climbing wall, movies, music, Sandcastle Theatre, costumes and creative crafts. Outdoor fun includes nature tours, scavenger hunts and swimming. Not to mention, their trained staff members are super fun and full of energy.
COAST is a first-of-its-kind, Teen Lounge, open from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., and offers a plethora of activities all set in a cool décor with surfboards and funky furniture. Teens can just chill or do things like create their own mix of music (then upload it to their iPod), play movies, popular video games, surf the net on Apple® computers, play billiards and work the DJ booth. Girls can even be a fashion model or get a mani-pedi or a makeover in Beauty@Coast.
Don’t feel left out though, because while your kids are having the best vacation of their young lives, you’ll be having yours – in the 42,000 square foot Eau Spa by Cornelia (pronounced “O” Spa). And OH my, it is O-MAZING.
As soon as you step into the Self-Centered Garden, you’ll immediately feel your stress melt into the soothing waterfalls. Try not to drool all over yourself as you ogle the sublime surroundings, but most do; it’s truly jaw dropping. Anywhere you see water, you’re welcome to indulge with a refreshing dip. If you just want to dip your toes in, be sure to experience one of the suspended swing chairs – where your feet dangle ever so gently in the water below as you gracefully sway to and fro. And this is just the outdoor area, wait till your spa treatment! (I can highly recommend the Sugar Scrub Body Polish.)
You can choose from several options, including Family Suites. If you want easy access to the beach and pool, without having to go through the hotel or up and down elevators, opt for the Lanai Suites. They’re on the first floor with rear doors that open onto your covered terrace, steps from the shore (and AquaNuts and COAST are just a minute’s walk).
To experience your own taste of paradise with your family, visit the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa online. I know you will fall in love with this property - we definitely did. Devon cried as we were packing to go home and my 12-year old son even asked to have his birthday party at COAST. Now, that speak volumes. (And yes, they do parties.)
