Picture Tuesday: Hotel Indigo, a St. Petersburg Find

By: Terry Ward

A few good friends and I recently spent an evening in St. Petersburg at the new Hotel Indigo, right in the historic downtown area. And what a surprise this hotel was! There were plenty of big name chain hotels in the neighborhood, but we decided we wanted something with more of a boutique feel. And Hotel Indigo was just that.

Our room was decorated with a big pebble mural on one wall that just oozed Zen (and served to make the small room feel larger than it was), and the bathroom was clean and crisp with colorful tiling and my favorite Aveda products. The beds were very comfortable, too, but no rest for the wicked--it was out on the town we went, for a nice tapas dinner at Ceviche (so many restaurants and bars, including this one, are within a short walk of the hotel!) followed by an evening spent listening to live music on the street (it happened to be First Friday, a fun monthly street festival held on the first Friday of the month that really brings downtown to life).

Some other perks at this adorable hotel include beach cruiser bikes available for rent (a great way to get around town) and a small pool tucked off to the side of the building--what a treat for the urban location!

If you're looking for a stylish, urban stay in the St. Petersburg area that won't break the bank, I definitely recommend this place! Enjoy!
