Any restaurant that offers a heaping bowl of complimentary edamame the moment you sit down is after my own heart. And the tasty things on the menu at Echo Restaurant--a chic Asian fusion nosh spot in Palm Beach--continued to ingratiate themselves with my tastebuds from there.
My mother, sister and I recently had dinner at the restaurant while on a girls' weekend at The Breakers Palm Beach. We took the complimentary shuttle from the hotel to the restaurant (it's easy enough to stroll here, too), and proceeded to settle in for a beautifully presented Asian feast inspired by the cuisines of Japan, China, Thailand and Vietnam.
I loved the shu mai pork dumlings, served just as you'd find them in a dim sum restaurant--in a little bamboo basket, with delicate dipping sauces on the side. And we opted to share a few main courses, including the scallops and spicy beef. There's a great sushi selection here, too, with nice tropical toppings such as mangoes. The menu is enormous, and deciding what to order was the hardest part. Bon appetit, indeed!
