OK, all you seafood lovers, you won’t want to miss this! It’s the 6th Annual Deering Seafood Festival in Miami. You’ll find booth after booth of fresh and fabulous seafood like crab cakes, lobster, delicious paella, blackened tuna, shrimp cocktail, crayfish salad and the list goes on!
Get ready to have tons of fun with Bahamian Junkanoo dancers, steel drums, cooking demos with South Florida celebrity chefs, wine tastings, an artist village and the Lil’ Shrimp Kids Zone. I have to tell you, this Kids Zone is something to see. They have really gone all out to please families. There’s an amazing touch tank, several blow-up bouncy things, face painting and more. You can even take a pontoon boat ride out to Chicken Key.
Mark the date: Sunday, March 28, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the historic Deering Estate. It’s the biggest backyard on Biscayne Bay – and you could be there – with me!
Tickets are $12 for adults in advance or $15 at the gate; Children 4-14 are $5. Foundation Members are free. For more info, call 305.235.1668 ext. 263 or log on to their website. Bring hats and sunscreen. It should be a beautiful South Florida day!
