Between the fabulous consignment shopping (lightly worn castoffs from the very wealthy residents) to the terrific scuba diving just minutes offshore here, I love Palm Beach more everytime I go back. So I was really excited to discover a hip new Palm Beach area hotel recently, the Omphoy Ocean Resort.
Omphoy Ocean Resort opened in the summer of 2009 about six miles south of Worth Avenue. It's located along a pretty stretch of sand that's noticeably wider than what you'll find at nearby hotels (Beach lovers, take note!). The hotel was a Hilton property before, but noted designer Leslie Schlesinger (of Palm Beach's Brazilian Court Hotel) got her hands on this place, and totally reinvented the property as a very stylish boutique hotel with Asian touches and ocean views everywhere possible. I loved the use of natural products throughout the hotel, things like coquina shell, volcanic rock and seagrass, that made for a really zen beachy feel.
Sound like somewhere you'd like to visit, too? Why not make a long weekend out of it?The resort is running a fourth night free package right now, with rates from $239 per night. Have a blast in Palm Beach!
