“Fixxtures,” listen up!

Or anyone who, like me, spent a lot of time watching MTV in the 1980s.

If you did, you likely know The Fixx, the band from England with the hits “One Thing Leads to Another” and “Red Skies,” to name a few.

Or, maybe you remember that crazy music video for “Saved by Zero,” involving a place called “Club Zero,” a tortured artist and creepy hands emerging from a paint can and a canvas?

Well, The Fixx is still rocking more than 25 years later. The band will play at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort on Thursday (July 29). And, according to the hotel, the band will play the favorite ‘80s hits above, plus more.

The event is part of the hotel’s Velvet Sessions series, combination cocktail party-lobby concerts held the last Thursday of the month, from January through October.

Tickets are $25 per person online, or $30 at the door, and they include: free specialty drinks, finger foods and warm-up tunes from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., then cash bars and the live band from 8:30 p.m. on. If you buy tickets online, you can get in early, at 6 p.m.

You must be 21 or older to attend and valet parking is free for attendants.

You can buy tickets and get more information at www.velvetsessions.com, or by calling 407-503-2401.
