A rose by any other name still smells as sweet. Not that there are any flowers involved here.


On World Turtle Day, celebrated in June, the Caribbean Conservation Corporation formally changed the name of the group to the Sea Turtle Conservancy. Though its name is new, its mission is the same: to help protect sea turtles.


The Sunshine State has celebrated a great comeback of nesting green sea turtles and leatherback sea turtles (both endangered species) in the last 50 years since more laws prohibiting collecting their eggs and fishing them for meat have been passed.
