What's the best thing about Tuesday nights? Well, around my neck of the woods it's all of the fabulous fun that lies in wait on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. After a wild weekend that's filled with every activity you can imagine -- from concerts to cocktail parties -- the scene cools down with a perfect cadence for sophisticated fun.
Let me tell you about my favorite spot of all. A Taste for Wine is a hidden treasure that's heads above everything else going on downtown. Snugly settled on the second floor of the historic St. Charles Hotel, A Taste for Wine features an exclusive wine list that includes by-the-glass offerings and full bottles of some of the best vino you'll find in Florida.
Rochelle, the owner, is always happy to see you and ready to take care of you with great service and even better stories. When you see her, be sure to ask about the building's rich history, which dates back to 1928. It was originally the St. Charles Hotel, and the character and charm still make it the perfect accompaniment for a glass of fine wine. SIt on the balcony, trust me -- it's perfect.
Other accompaniments like the nibblet plate of dried fruit and nuts and the fruit and cheese tray will make you happy too.
Now, remember, the perfect Tuesday nights on Central Avenue only beings here. It continues with free champagne for the ladies at Central Cigars. Every aficionado’s dream, Central Cigars offers a wide variety of cigars and includes special treatment on Tuesday evenings for all of the ladies who make their way into this way cool establishment on Tuesday nights.
End your stroll down Central on a high note -- with lots of flavor -- at Ceviche where Tuesday is the night for $4 tapas and sangria. Have a seat on the Old Florida-style porch and watch the world go by!
I love Central Avenue in St. Pete. It's always all good and just enough to get you through to the next weekend. I snapped these photos on my Kodak Zi8 so you can see the great happenings for yourself. See you on Central!
