First-Ever Miami Film Festival For Kids

It’s a Miami first – a film festival FOR KIDS! The KidFlix Festival is this Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the University of Miami’s Bill Cosford Cinema. The address is 5100 Brunson Drive (off Campo Sano) in Coral Gables.
 
There will be films for ages 3 and up and here’s a sampling of what’s on the schedule:
  • The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, told from the wolf’s perspective
  • Inside Hana’s Suitcase, an interesting drama for families that’s narrated by children ‘with a message of tolerance and hope.
  • The Secret of Kells (nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 2010 Academy Awards), combines fantasy and Celtic mythology to show how the power of imagination and faith can carry humanity through dark times.
In between screenings, you’re invited to enjoy some hands-on fun with your family at the KidFlix Activity Center. It’s all set up by the Miami Children’s Museum and the Deering Estate.
 
KidFlix Festival runs from 9:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. this Sunday, April 11, 2010. Tickets are $5 child, $10 adult. Parking is free. For more info, just call 305.573.6477 or log on to their website.
