Here are some favorite events:

Englewood Pioneer Days

Talk about old-fashioned fun! From wacky boat races to an all-day Labor Day fest complete with a parade, this 59-year tradition is one that every kid (or kid-at-heart) will love. Bring wipes to wash up after the watermelon-eating contest.

Fishermen's Village's Fall Festival

Dig out your lederhosen – and loosen 'em up to make room for bratwurst, sauerkraut and imported beverages in Punta Gorda. It's a great place to explore, too, as it has a mall, marina, restaurants and a resort – all in one place.

Haunting on the Harbor

Sounds scary, but it’s not, really. You’ll find family-friendly activities and a frightfully fun House of Horrors in downtown Punta Gorda. (Be sure to check out Laishley Crab House, just a short walk away, for great Florida seafood.)

Ghouls & Drools Barktoberfest

Your furry, four-legged family members need a fall getaway too! Participate in the costume contest (you and your dog) or just come enjoy the festivities for free in the Center Court of Punta Gorda's Fishermen's Village. Organized by Salty Paws gift store.
