Florida Travel: A Guide to Thrill Rides at SeaWorld Orlando

Rides and Attractions

Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly splash fest; adrenaline-fueled coaster rides; or attractions made for giggles, not screams; you’re sure to find it on this list of SeaWorld Orlando rides and attractions.

Pipeline: The Surf Coaster

Pipeline, the planet’s first and only surf coaster, launches from a gnarly 110 feet in the air at 60 mph. Thanks to its seats – which place you in an upright position, mimicking a surfboard-- you’ll feel every bank, twist and drop, just as if you’re really riding the waves.
High Thrill

Ice Breaker

If you want airtime, thrills, and a ride that will make you scream like a little girl, Ice Breaker will deliver. The ride amps up the adrenalin with four launches, both backwards and forwards; and multiple twists, turns and hills that will leave you floating above your seat. The craziness culminates with a reverse launch into a beyond vertical drop: a 93 feet tall spike with 100 degree angle, the steepest in Florida.
High Thrill

Mako

Named after one of the ocean’s fastest sharks, and infamous for its high speeds, deep dives and thrills, Mako holds bragging rights as Orlando's tallest and fastest roller coaster. This monster of the deep whips through a shipwreck reef at speeds up to 73 mph and up to 200 feet high.
High Thrill

Kraken

Inspired by the mammoth, mythological underwater beast that shares its name, Kraken is Orlando's only floorless roller coaster. It leaves its passengers’ feet dangling while they travel in open-sided seats, perched on a pedestal atop the track. It’s no carousel; this ogre travels at highway speeds at heights of more than 150 feet and includes a stomach-churning seven inversions.
High Thrill

Manta

A tribute to the giant manta ray, this flying roller coaster is the only of its kind in Florida. Your journey on this extraordinarily smooth track begins with a head-first, face-down inverted nosedive and includes passes just above the water at 55 mph.
High Thrill

Infinity Falls

Cool off at Infinity Falls, where staying dry isn’t an option. Climb aboard a raft for a river expedition around gushing fountains, surprise geysers and stunning waterfalls through a tropical ruins landscape. Then get ready for a scream-fest through rapids, where you squeeze through chutes and drenching turns before plunging down one of the tallest drops of its kind into boiling whitewater. You can dry off in no time at SeaWorld’s family-sized dryers for a small fee.
High Thrill

Journey to Atlantis

Take a get-soaked excursion on this hybrid flume ride/roller coaster. You’ll explore murky, watery passages through the mythical city before you’re flung out of its gates and down an exhilarating plunge to the waters below.
Medium Thrill

Cool off, kick back or get your adrenaline pumping at SeaWorld’s Aquatica Orlando, rated the Nation's Best Outdoor Waterpark by USA Today.
-SeaWorld

Aquatica Orlando

Chill out at this award-winning water park, promising mild-to-wild water rides; kicked back cabanas; sandy beaches and toddler-friendly play areas. Here’s everything you need to know about Aquatica Orlando.

Dolphin Plunge is one of the most popular rides at Aquatica, combining an epic waterslide with the phenomenon of nature.
-SeaWorld

Water Slides, Rivers and Pools

From idyllic floats down lazy rivers to thrill rides like Taumata --involving racing down a staggeringly steep hill, head first—Aquatica Orlando has the coolest, wettest fun in town.

Turi’s Kid Cove

Snuggled between Big Surf Shores and Mango Market, Turi’s is made for splashing, spraying and playing, with watering palms, tipping buckets, spraying jets and water bobbles. That’s not all: kids can grab a tube and take a ride on the Tamariki Twirl, a pint-sized wave slide designed for little ones.
Family Play

Reef Plunge

When Aquatica says this water-slide is one-of-a-kind, they mean it. As you curve, scream and splash through more than 330 feet of translucent cutouts and rings, you’ll pass through an underwater habitat, where you’ll get an eyeful of marine life, including Commerson’s dolphins, leopard sharks, sardines, and other cold-water fish.
Body Slide

Riptide Race

Who’s the fastest in your gang? The Riptide Race will tell the tale. A slippery cup of adrenaline, this dueling waterslide race, the world’s tallest, begins at the tippy-top of a 68-foot tower. Your team will commandeer a two-person raft before braving 650 feet of high-speed tunnels, twists, and turns that are complete with low walls-- so you can keep an eye on your opponents.
Family Thrill

KareKare Curl

Don’t let KareKare’s modest 361 foot long length fool you into thinking it’s tame. The thrills on this slide are massive. You’ll begin 50 feet up, rocket through the first tunnel, and then travel up the wall, aka the “KareKare” curl, for a full 35 feet: a weightless squeal fest. You’ll immediately slide back down the wall, going through one last tube before the ride culminates in the catch pool. KareKare Curl accommodates groups of two-to-five riders, but no single riders.
Family Thrill

Ray Rush

Ray Rush multiplies the fun with three ways to slide, splash, and soar. The expedition begins with water jets launching your raft from zero to breathtaking in mere seconds. Next on the agenda is spinning inside an immense water sphere. Finally, you’ll swoop into the giant manta wings, plunging up and down a different path every time.
Family Thrill

Cutback Cove and Big Surf Shores

Aquatica boasts two gargantuan, side-by-side wave pools, a delight you won't find anywhere else in the U.S. At Cutback Cove, the waves constantly roll, and the action's always elevated. At Big Surf Shores, the surf can be high, or slow and gentle. What kind of wave has your name on it? One wave pool will always be open; the second wave pool is opened seasonally.

Ihu's Breakaway Falls

On this watery free-fall ride, you never know who's going to breakaway first. But you can be certain it's going to be a very wild ride. Buckle up: it’s the steepest multi-drop tower of its kind in Orlando.
Drop Tower

Loggerhead Lane

Chill out on a lazy river ride aboard a raft, where you’ll float through an underwater world of exotic, brightly-hued tropical fish.
Chill

Omaka Rocka

Charge down flumes into gigantic funnels on this water slide, sliding high from one side to the other. Family Thrill

Roa's Rapids

Hardly a lazy river, Roa’s is an expedition through a bellowing sea of high tides, spinning eddies and torrential geysers, all at white-knuckle speed.
Family Thrill

Tassie's Twisters

Just getting to this utterly unique ride is an adventure. From the Loggerhead Lane lazy river, make your way to the island in the center and scale the tower. Getting to the bottom again is a good deal faster: bullet-fast tubes fire you into a giant bowl, where you'll spin and spin and then spin some more, until you're ultimately spun back out into the lazy river.
Family Thrill

Taumata Racer

Hungry for excitement? Taumata is hands-down the biggest thrill in the park. Face your fears and challenge your mates on this a high-speed competitive mat ride where eight racers tear down a spectacularly vertical hill, noses leading the way.
Extreme Thrill

Walhalla Wave

An exhilarating journey for the whole family, this ride zooms you through a six-story labyrinth of twists, turns and tunnels before you spurt back out into the sun.
Family Thrill

Walkabout Waters

Follow the laughter to whimsical Walkabout Waters. It covers a full 15,000 square-feet and encompasses a looming, 60-foot-tall rain fortress that’s bursting with color, excitement and adventures made for kids.
Family Play

Whanau Way

Four unique, high-speed adventures await riders on this quadruple slide tower. You can tackle it by yourself or with a buddy on a double inner tube.
Family Thrill

Florida Travel: Welcome to Discovery Cove, SeaWorld Orlando

Discovery Cove

The folks at Discovery Cove call it a day in paradise.

Which, as it turns out, is an accurate description.

This unique, all-inclusive day resort, voted #1 Best Theme Park in Orlando by USA Today 10Best, features fascinating animal encounters in a tropical sanctuary.

Here, you can snorkel in a swirling wonderland of tropical fish and rays in The Grand Reef; let colorful, exotic birds nibble treats out of your fingers in Explorer’s Aviary, and get nose-to-whiskers with adorable otters and curious marmosets in the emerald-hued waters of Freshwater Oasis. But the most memorable of your remarkable experiences is likely to be swimming with dolphins, where you’ll become buddies with the most beloved of all marine creatures.

Discovery Cove is made for families, and it’s made for romance, too. You can kick back in tropical lagoons in the aptly-named Serenity Bay, and float through a stunning cave and past shimmering waterfalls on Wind-Away River. And you’ll be spoiled in every way imaginable.
