Key West, the southernmost city in the continental United States, is known as a party town, and rich in history and charm.

It's also a great place to have fun with your kids.

Here’s a look at some of the hotspots around the city for families:

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Odditorium

Located on famed Duval Street, the Odditorium features more than 500 exhibits of weird and strange people, places and things. From a prehistoric masatodon skull to a car completely covered in dimes, this self-guided tour will leave you amazed. And always be on the lookout for sword swallowers.

Key West Aquarium

Explore sea life, learn about conservation, see coral reef tanks and animals native to Florida. Be sure to spend some time at Stingray Bay and don’t be afraid to put your hands in and feed them – it’s an experience you won’t forget.

Southernmost Point

This isn’t more than just a really great photo opportunity, but it is one that shouldn’t be missed. At the Southernmost point, you’re only 90 miles from Cuba. Now, that’s a story you’ll want to tell your friends when you get home.

Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum

Stroll the home and gardens of one of America’s most prized writers. He wrote many of his works at this property and the museum offers a glimpse into his life. Some 40 cats, descendent of a Hemingway pet, live on the property, each with six toes.

Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory

Explore the conservatory and you’ll find close to 50 different butterfly species, alongside 20 exotic bird species, all in a climate-controlled setting. The Learning Center offers little ones an up-close look at the lifespan of a butterfly, includng feeding and migration patterns.

Conch Tour Train

For a great way to learn your way around the city, climb aboard this iconic train with your gang. You’ll see all the sights and maybe discover a few new places, too.
